Summer School
Summer school is a wonderful opportunity for relaxed, informal instruction. The following guidelines are necessary to maintain order.
1. The class will begin at 7:45 a.m. and finish at 12:15 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. First day of class will be on Tuesday 30 May 2006, and the last day will be Friday 14 July 2006.
The class will not meet on the following days:
- Thursday 01 June (Mr. Cacayorin to seminar)
- Wednesday 14 June to Friday 17 June (football camp)
- Monday 03 to Tuesday 04 July 2006 (Independence Day Holiday)
2. You are expected to be in class the entire allotted time. You will be expected to arrive on-time and leave promptly after the class is dismissed. The gym is off-limits.
3. Grading Scale:
35% tests
35% homework/quizzes
15% semester exam
15% attendance
The attendance grade will be 100 points. Deductions will be based on the following guidelines:
- unexcused absence--10 points (no e-mail/note from parent)
- excused absence--1 point
- unexcused tardy--5 points (no e-mail/note from parent)
- excused tardy--1 point
- unprepared for class--2 points
- class disruptions--to be determined by teacher ranging from 2-10 points.
These deductions will be doubled on the third offense. Please inform Mr. Cacayorin of any additional anticipated absences during the first week of school so that you will not be penalized for the absence.
4. You will bring all your materials to class
- book
- calculator
- paper
- pencil (with lead)
Failure to bring all materials to class will result in deductions to the attendance grade as listed in #3 above.
5. Activity dress is suggested. T-shirts will be allowed, but shorts will not be allowed. Breaches in the dress code will result in a 10-point penalty in the attendance grade.
